Out of the 3 buns we tried on our East Village Saturday Sticky Bun Crawl (TM), the winner was Peels’ take on the classic. It was the a great combo of YUM + PECANS + JUST THE RIGHT SIZE. However, it was a little pricey at $3.50.
If you like a HUGE, very sticky bun that tastes like bread pudding, give the Rum Runner bun at Jane’s Sweet Buns a go - and for something more restrained and delicate, the Ugat Shmarim at Zucker Bakery is heaven. Seriously, there wasn’t a bad bun in the bunch!
