While it is more cool and cloudy than it should be here on this most quintessentially Summer-est of holidays, I somehow think this weather forecast is wrong.

My Fourth of July: Guns, Food and Booze

Hope y’all had a great Fourth of July yesterday! Here are a couple fun shots from the backyard BBQ at Daisy and Erik’s.

As any ‘Merican knows, the Fourth is about independence and upholding all the grand traditions of our forefathers. I hear George Washington and his wooden chompers loved a good burger or two. It is in his honor that we ate plenty:

Of course, we wouldn’t be who we are today without the rights guaranteed in the American Constitution. The right we glorify in the highest on this July day is the right to blow sh*t up! We carry on this legacy through the viewing of fireworks, and also awesome displays of watergun badassery:

It may all look like fun and games, but you probably don’t want to mess with me

Seriously, it was a bloodbath out there

After eating and drinking our fill, those who survived the great Watergun Fight of 2011 climbed our way to the top of a rickety Brooklyn ladder to view fireworks in an electrifying 360-degree display. Thanks to all the renegade Brooklynites who risked life and limb to prove that firework laws can’t touch them, we were witness to the true spirit of Independence Day.

Godbless us all. Amen. I now leave you all with Bob the dog in an American flag bandana.
