Happy Hour: Love on the Run
- 1.5 oz gin
- 1 oz Lillet Blanc
- .5 oz St Germain (elderflower liqueur)
- Pastis (or absinthe) rinse
Shake the Gin, Lillet and St Germain with ice and strain into a pastis-rinsed coupe glass.
For some reason, my bottle of St Germain was calling my name today - so I set out to make something a little more interesting than my usual. After a quick search, I came across this recipe which features some other oddball selections that I just happened to have on hand (this is the best part about consciously building out my home bar - chances are I have whatever weirdo combination of booze that is called for).
Love on the Run is a fantastic mix of sweet and gently herbal, that manages to be both refreshing and a little bit wicked. It looks pretty boring in my glass, but the flavor is storming my taste buds!
Just handed my glass over to Justin and he says it’s ‘good’, so I must not be crazy (maybe just more prone to hyperbole than he).
PS - Please note in the final pic that my dumb cat Gemma is being a creeper, and peering at me just over the rim of the glass. Cats, man. Cats.
