Happy Hour: Applejack Cocktail
- 1 shot of Laird’s Applejack brandy
- Juice of half a lemon
- 4 dashes of grenadine (I got creative and subbed in some triple berry syrup from Smuckers!)
- Top off with soda water
Build over crushed ice and stir, stir, stir!
This was a fun experiment with my new bottle of Applejack. It’s hot out there today, so I wanted something refreshing. After a quick search online, I came up with this recipe and now I am drinking it. Oh, Internet, you never fail me.
If you don’t know, Applejack is apple brandy. It’s spirit forward, with a nice hint of granny apple in the background (that is to say, nothing like apple schnapps). In this drink, though, the apple comes forward and the other ingredients balance it out to be quite refreshing indeed. It’s lovely as a peach-colored sunset as well, thanks to the addition of the triple berry syrup.
